13th Age Bestiary – Hatchling Edition

hatchlingPre-order the full-colour hardback in the store for release in May 2014, and download  the latest draft of the PDF now — plus playtest versions of all-new classes from 13 True Ways.

Those who ordered early got a credit in the book, the option of giving playtest feedback, the first chance to get the limited edition, and a vote in our Monster Menagerie poll.

Like the core book before it, the 13th Age Bestiary looks to be bigger and better than we imagined. I asked for 50 new monsters for 13th Age but with variations, we’re expecting to deliver a weighty, four-colour, 220-page hardcover tome.

As a result, the price of the Bestiary may go up a small amount (about $5) once the book is in production and we get a better idea of how much it costs to produce. Or it may not. But I encourage you to place your pre-order now, just in case.

This is no ordinary bestiary. While of course it includes a host of new creatures, it’s more than stat blocks and bland descriptions. It gleams with the essence of 13th Age, with the same quirkiness, the same match between flavour and mechanics you saw in the core rules.

Find out how each creature relates to the icons, make use of multiple adventures hooks for every creature and use nasty specials and variations to keep your 13th Age campaign unique.

    Hi!

Just took a look at the “Redcap” and I think I like this game even more than I did before, and the FLGS hasn’t even got my copy of the core rulebook to me yet!

Hey – where is the “Koru Behemoth” that migrates in such a huge pattern on the world?

    • Just Here says:

I think trying to fight a koru behemoth would be like trying to fight a volcano or something like that. Just don’t even try.

  12. Adam Connor says:

Any word on when this will be in print?

  13. shadowcentaur says:

Preordered it and I’m loving what I’m seeing. There’s so much richness and detail. The fact that there’s so much lore and adventure hooks for each monster is so refreshing.
